New Chieftain announced for 2017 Games

The Perth Highland Games committee is delighted to announced that Lorna Craig, an award-winning Perth actress, has agreed to be our Chieftain for the 2017 Games on Sunday 13th August.
Lorna, who trained at The Royal Conservatoire (RCS), recently played Lana in Greg Hemphill’s ‘West Skerra Light’ for BBC. She’s also been nominated for Best Lead actress at The Horror Hotel Film Festival. Other TV and film credits include: Cindy in BAFTA nominated ‘Gasping’ with Frankie Boyle, the title role in London short film festival’s Best Film ‘Shell’ and Jen in ‘River City’ for which she was chosen as Best New Actor or Actress. Lorna has performed a range of diverse roles around the country including at Perth Theatre, The Traverse, The Manchester Royal Exchange and The Citizen’s Theatre.
Secretary Brian Whyte says, “We’re delighted that Lorna has agreed to become our Chieftain for 2017. It’s an important and enjoyable role, and we hope that Lorna will have a fantastic time at our Games.”
Lorna says, “I’m honoured to have been asked to take on the role of Chieftain at the Perth Highland Games and I look forward to welcoming everyone on Sunday 13th August!”
