You can see all the traditional Highland events at Perth Highland Games. There are heavyweight events such as throwing the weight and tossing the caber, highland dancing, bagpipe competitions for solo pipers and pipe bands, plus track events including running and cycling.
There are also rides and amusements for children and trade stands selling a wide variety of food, drinks and goods.

Perth’s annual Highland Games take place in August, but many towns, villages and cities across Scotland also host their own Games, so you can find a Highland Games somewhere in Scotland most weeks from mid-May until late September.
